Left on this graveled road to TRIGG TOWER, 1 m., a forest lookout named for L. O. Trigg of Eldorado, who devoted years of voluntary service to the establishment of a National forest in the Illinois Ozarks.

Getting to Trigg Tower is fairly easy and well signed along the roads - which are still gravel.
Of course, the view is spectacular. Our family visited during the hot summer months so there is a bit of a haze in our photos. I sincerely hope somebody can visit during the fall color period.
The stairs are fairly steep so watch your step. It looks daunting, but a smooth, steady pace goes by quickly (and bring some water up with you).
Parking is available right at the base of the tower.
