Douglas Cardinal is a renown modern Canadian architect with a distinctive style. His best known work is the Museum of Civilization across the Ottawa River from the Canadian Parliament Buildings. One of his earlier works that built his reputation is St Albert Place in St Albert, just outside Edmonton, Alberta. This multifunctional municipal building houses the city hall, library, theatre, museum and crafts centre. This is the home of government, arts and culture in St Albert.
