The Chandler Xeriscape Demonstration Garden is located on the Northwest corner of Erie Street and Arrowhead Drive in Chandler, AZ. The garden includes walking paths, public art, and plants available for landscaping in desert enviroments where conserving water is at a premium.
The gardens are divided in to six sections that each highlight a different aspect of a xeriscape. The six sections are: Sonoran Desert plants, plants of color, shade plants, low maintanence plants, plants for wildlife, and child friendly plants. Each section is signed and contains a numbered list of the plants in that area. Each plant has a number next to it corresponding with the number and species on the sign.
The garden was originally constructed in August of 1987, but was recently remodeled in 2007. It is dedicated to the citizens of Chandler.
