Zanjero Park is a 20 acre park located on the East side of Lindsay Rd just South of the Loop 202 freeway. The park is a converted water retention basin and opened on April 19, 2008. The park was named for zanjeros, who worked on irrigation canals that brought water to farmers in Gilbert's early history.
The primary use of the park is for horseback riding. There are almost a mile of horseback riding trails with hitching posts and water troughs. The park also contains a multi use trail that links up to the Santan Trail.
For picnics, the park contains two ramadas that each contain two picnic tables. One of the ramadas also contains a bbq grill.
Zanjero Park is open daily from 6am - 10pm.
