I found this benchmark by accident while we were out fossil hunting and geocaching. It is located on the National Forest Developed 7320 Road (off of Highway 97). It is on the northern portion of the road, located about 3-4 feet above the ground in the side of the rock face.

This is awesome when you consider this was the only way through this portion of the state for some time and the benchmark was placed in 1930. An awesome piece of history.

The road is manageable without 4 wheel drive, it is paved. It is also a bit curvy and steep in places but very doable.
