This memorial is located in an historic park in the heart of North Becket, MA National Historic District. The park is called Ballou Park after the person who donated it to the Town of Becket. The park is easily accessable by parking accross the street in the lot for the Becket Athenaeum, which you might want to vist to get more history of the town.

Who Put it Here?: Town of Becket, MA
Description of Memorial: The memorial marker is on locally quaried granite. I visit the Athenaeum on Saturday at least once a month and pass the park as I arrive. The park is small and next to Rt 8 the main north/south road through Becket. The Yokum Creek runs on the other side of the park. Ther are more historic markers in the park.
