This marble plague shows the course of the 10th east meridian.
The plaque is located at the northeastern end of the "Kennedybrücke", just between inner and outer Alster lakes. The plaque is located on the footway over the bride and is crossed by hundreds of joggers and bicycles each day.
In addition to the marble plaque, there are two navigation poles just some meters north of the plaque. Boats on the outer Alster lake can use these poles to be right on course if they bring both poles in line with eachother.
