A 51 benchmark, Cortland, NY - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This is a USCGS benchmark in Cortland, New York, set in an exterior wall of what was once a train station. It now is an apparently abandoned building in a down and out neighborhood. The mark has been painted over with red paint but is still very legible. Due to the nature of the setting I chose not to remain long enough to photograph or note the GPS reading but the published coordinates are quite close.
