San Tan Park is a beautiful piece of dessert. The northern part has a range of mountains with Goldmine Mountain as its highest point. There are two graves located witin the park boundary which are very interesting to see.
The Southern Part has the Malapai Escarpment which is volcanic in nature. The Saguaro forest and patches of cholla can be very beautiful to see and enjoy. There is even a rare crested saguaro which is located on the southern edge of the San Tan Trail.
It is a wonderful place to hike and enjoy the beauty of the sonoran dessert. The park has events all year round that range from geocaching 101 to scorpion hunts.
