The first congregations formed and met in people's homes in 1873. The first church was erected and dedicated on Pentecost Sunday 1879, folowed by a school and the parsonage.
The current church was erected in 1901 and an addition was built in 1967.
The adjoining cemetery currently has approximately 230 graves with the earliest known dated 1885.
