In the valley below Viens is a simple chapel dated back to the medieval period, a chapel dedicated to St Ferréol martyred in Lyon in 304.

This isolated St Ferréol chapel as some very interesting features. A statue of St Ferreol very similar to the one at the St Ferréol Hermatige above Ceret. It shows a Roman soldier dedicated to his duty and faith. There is also a sundial dated to 1690. It is this sundial that caught my attention and interest is St Ferréol.

When we first saw the chapel in 2004, the lavender in the fields to the north created a great image but that was before digital cameras. Now we have more but not better pictures.
