Ben Matlock's house in Season 7 & 8 of "Matlock" when filming moved to Wilmington, NC. There were 2 other Matlock houses. One was in California when the show started. The 3rd was in Wilmington, NC for Season 9.
Only the exterior of the house here in Southport, NC was used. Andy Griffith's character Ben Matlock would occasionally be seen outside this house with the characters Cliff Lewis played by Daniel Roebuck and Leanne McIntyre played by Brynn Thayer. Stills of the house were used after commercial breaks when Ben Matlock would then be shown inside the house which was a studio set.
