The Jean C. Smith Memorial Amphitheater is tucked back among the trees near a pond in Locust Shade Park in Triangle, VA. Seating is offered on benches on the hillside surrounding the covered stage or on the lawn.
The old amphitheater has been renovated. Wooden benches were replaced with more durable metal and the stage was given a facelift. It was rededicated in May 2009 in honor of Jean Smith, a former PW Park Authority Board member, who was killed with her son in a home burglary. (Read news article.)
Performances are seasonal. A schedule for upcoming events can be checked here.
