"There’s nothing quite as satisfying as growing your own fresh flowers and vegetables in a home garden. Gardens enable us to spend more time outdoors, work with our hands and feel physically connected to the Earth.
Elders at Signature HealthCARE of Putnam County truly enjoy working in their very own gardens and find gardening to be highly therapeutic, so we decided to share that joy with the entire community.
With help from the City of Algood, our local Potters Ace Home Center, and Modern Architectural Design Elements (MADE), we were able turn some unused space into a beautiful community garden.
Our friends and neighbors, who may not have the space or resources to plant a garden, can now experience the benefits this pastime brings.
Our new garden is located beside our facility at 278 Dry Valley Rd. We encourage anyone interested in planting items to contact Signature HealthCARE at 931-537-6524 to reserve your plot for the coming season.
We ask that members of the community only pick items from the garden that are designated as “free” to the community, and not pick from areas that have been reserved by others.
A community garden creates opportunities to learn and grow through gardening. Together we are beautifying our city, providing fresh produce, and contributing towards a healthier living environment."
