On the Village Green is located the Children's Chime Tower. It was dedicated in 1878 and rung at 5:30 every evening from apple blossom time till the first frost on the pumpkins, (now between Memorial Day and Labor Day), in accordance with the donor's wishes. The tower was built by David Dudley Field to honor his grandchildren.
