If your GPS is wonky
And your sense o' sun is weak
This 'ere compass'll set you straight
With the cardinal points you seek
Of course it's not very transportable
Up the trail, we're on our own.
Guess we'll rely on geoSense
Send out the rangers if we don't get home!

This compass monument is set on a concrete pedestal in sight of the main spillway of Stillhouse Hollow Dam. It marks the trailhead into the Chalk Ridge Falls Park Preserve operated by the US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS. There is no signage regarding the compass, maybe YOU know it's story?
