This statue called Pete's Place is of John W. "Pete" Peters and stands on Main St. in downtown Mesa as part of Mesa's permanent sculpture collection. The statue was donated to the collection from Western Block Company, a company he owned. The statue was sculpted by Russell W. Bowers and was dedicated in January 2003.
John Peters was a Mesa resident who raised the standards of the masonry field in construction and manufacturing. "Pete" as he was referred to, owned two companies: B&B Masonry and the Western Block Company.
