The Fayette Public Library at 201 South Main Street was built beginning in 1914 and completed in 1915. The library opened April 1, 1915. The building was built using a $10,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie and was built on a lot donated by Fayette resident Jordan Coller. The Mission Style building was designed by architect Benjamin G. Elliot of Mexico, Missouri. The building continues to serve the city of Fayette as their public library.
