The former Howard County Jail and Residence at 203 E. Morrison Street was built circa 1889-1894. The brick two-story Queen Anne style building was built by W. J. HcGraw. The building is well maintained. The current jail is located behind this building.
The building is a contributing building in the Fayette Courthouse Square Historic District.
