The history of The Entrance is signposted throughout the Town Centre with a heritage walk around the town. A series of history signs follow the waterfront on Marine Parade and the waymarked sign No.18 is situated on Marine Parade between Beach St and Fairport Ave.
The sign is titled: Bus in Freak Crash.
The text reads: "In the mid 1950s this Red Bus crashed through the wooden retaining wall and fence into the Lake on the approach to the old wooden bridge at The Entrance. The front wheels landed in the water, with the nose of the bus resting on a small rowing boat.
Bystanders smashed the windows of the bus to assist the passengers to safety as the bus straddled the wall. No-one was injured. A PMG truck was used to haul the bus back onto the road."
