In Dedham, along Eastern Avenue, is an American Legion Post at a sharp corner, with a small green tank. This tank, which has the name, "Delores" stenciled on it, is most likely a Stuart M5A1 tank.
The tank is in good shape. It is barely the height of a person, and its length is about the size of a subcompact car.
According to a web site for the A. A. F. Tank Museum in Virginia, the Stuart Tanks were a very reliable fighting vehicle. It was run with a crew of four (seems hard to believe given its size). It was powered by twin Cadallac V-8 engines, and could go at a speed up to 36 mph.
