King Chulalongkorn had a long and successful reign (1868–1910), modernising the Kingdom of Thailand, keeping the imperialist fingers of Britain and France off his kingdom, and generally earning the respect of both his subjects and the leaders of other nations. His image if widely found in Thailand.
Here, outside the provincial administration offices of the province of Chonburi (~80kms south east of Bangkok), on the south side of an open area, is a statue/shrine of the King. The statue is a good likeness of the King.
