This stained glass coat of arms of Porvoon maalaiskunta has received its item from the old a seal. The seal described the three fish, which are probably salmon in the district crown as a reminder of important salmon rivers Porvoonjoki, Mustijoki and Ilolanjoki.
The coat of arms was designed by Gustaf von Numers, and was confirmed in use of 19 September 1953. When Porvoo rural municipality accessioned to the city of Porvoo this coat of arms was turned off.
