MESOZOIC ERA, LOWER CRETACEOUS PERIOD
Some 120 million years ago, 3 types of dinosaurs left their tracks in the Paluxy River bottom near Glen Rose.
SAUROPOD - Herbivorous semi-aquatic, lizard-hipped quadrupedal four toed reptile, some 70' long & 30 tons.
THEROPOD - Carnosaur, carnivorous, bipedal, three-claw toed reptile.
ORNITHOPOD - Camptosaur, herbivorous, bipedal, 3 blunt tipped toed reptile related to the duckbill dinosaur(unreadable text follows)
The track has three toes and sharp tips, thus it's from a theropod.
The stone with the track was probably excavated from the riverbed before the dinosaur track area became a State Park or U.S. National Natural landmark.
Access to the gazebo is unrestricted on public property.
