The present building dates from 1200 when the Nave and South Aisle were built. The chancel was rebuilt in 1320 and lengthened and widened.
The Tower was added in the 15th Century and the porch is dated 1828.
Wall paintings were discovered in 1889, being some of the earliest murals in the County they were under layers of lime wash.
