Jones Historical Society museum is located just north of Britton Rd. (W. Main St.) at NW 1st St.
There is a red locomotive on the south side of the museum, and a wall of donated bricks. The NE corner has a flag plaza, another donated brick wall, and a silver crown from the old Jones water tower.
One wall displays a Kiwanis plaque and the City of Jones shield, and nearby are two plaques for the Masonic Lodge.
There are no set hours, but the gallery for this waymark shows the sign listing contact numbers if you'd like to come visit.
The staff is very knowledgeable about the history of Jones, and happy to help show you around or answer any questions.
The museum has plans for expansion including a picnic area on the west end of the parking lot.
Be sure to stop and see the Jones historical marker down the street on Hogback Rd. This is the area where Washington Irving's party stopped while travelling through the territory.
