This 14.5 mm Type 56 AAMG is a Chinese copy of the Soviet ZPU-4 quadruple anti-aircraft machine gun which was first introduced in 1949 and type-classified in 1956.

This model was exported in large numbers to North Vietnam and was considered the most dangerous opposition to to U.S helicopters during the Vietnam War.
Guns of this type, and possibly even this one, were used by the Iraqi forces in 1990-1991 during Operation Desert Storm.
