A clock set on the wall of one of the Charles Wilson Building at Leicester University and dedicated to Arthur Humphreys, the first professor of English at the University.

The plaque describes that the clock was presented by Jean Humphreys, widow of Professor Arthur Humphreys and unveiled on 27th September 2003 by Professor Richard Hoggart, colleague and friend of Arthur Humphreys.
Arthur Humphreys was a professor at the university from 1947 to 1976. Professor Humphreys studied Shakespeare and wrote book on the subject. The University website records that:- "In 1946 the department appointed its first professor, the Shakespearean scholar Arthur Humphreys, editor of the Arden editions of Shakespeare’s Henry IV."
