Saddam Hussein would annually, on his birthday, give the gift of his portrait to one community. His dress in the portrait would be fitting for the community which was to receive it. This is the last remaining portrait of Saddam in the U.S. controlled area of Baghdad. It is located on the former Republican Guard compound, thus Saddam's dress in a military uniform.
