This is the M-3 Tank that is located at the south end of the Village Green in New Milford, CT. The markings on the tank are as follows:
Front: NVPSX1H02
Side: USA W-3025340
The only other information I could find about this tank is that following one of the worst fires in New Milford history in 1948, after rebuilding the area, citizens voted in favor of placing this tank at the south (most prevalent) end of the Village Green.
The tank is one of many different war memorials located on the Village Green.
For history buffs, this is certainly an area to spend some time. For example, right across Main Street from the tank is the home site of Roger Sherman, who was on the Committee of Five which drafted the Declaration of Independence.
