The Mountain View Child Care Center has a protected play area for children. The play area is surrounded by a high fence and has a colorful and beautiful gate opening out to Rengstorff Park. The gate consists of two main swinging doors and on each adjacent side, two smaller doors that are for limited pedestrian traffic. The fence connected to the gate continues with the theme of whimsical children's decorations.

Evenings and weekends this gate is open for public access to the play area.
