M114 - 155 mm Howitzer
The M114 was first produced in 1942, in response to American involvement in World War II. The medium howitzer saw action with American troops during World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam.
The M114 utilizes a standard NATO 155mm round. This would explain why 155mm Howitzer remains in service in many contries including: Argentina, Austria, Bosnian Federation, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Denmark, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Jordan, South Korea, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, the Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, Spain, Sudan, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, Vietnam, the Yemen and Yugoslavia.
Today, American forces utilize the M198 as a replacement for the M114.
