Built in the early 1980s, over some strident environmental objection, Sorrento Quay is now a major northern suburbs (of Perth) recreational destination. Dozens of restaurants, shops (perhaps a little over priced), packed full of touristy 'Australiana', cafes, and such things as waterslides, adventure rides, etc, abound. Also, making it a 'quay', there is a large boat docking area. All in all, lots of fun—finding a parking space on a weekend is often difficult.
Over the main entrance, off the main carpark, is this large neon sign.
