Playa Rincon beach is located near the small town of Las Galeras on the Samana peninsula in the Dominican Republic. It has been rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world.
It is located on a small bay and normally deserted and there are no hotels nearby. There are two thatch hut restaurants and no vendors, booths, signs, or radios at the beach. The best way to get here is by boat from Las Galeras but you can get a taxi out of Las Terrenas or Samana to Las Galeras. Just before Las Galeras you'll see the turn-off to Playa Rincon. The road is pretty rugged and takes a while, so plan accordingly.
Eat at one of the restaurants on the beach as the fish and lobster are the best in the Dominican Republic.
There are no sports here with few facilities mainly 2 food huts. Shade is provided by mature palm trees and the sand is considered “medium grain” and a light brown color. The views of the surrounding mountainous jungle are spectacular.
