Every trip to SF we take on the Ferry
We observe this rusty sea dog
Though I admit I dubbed him Quixote
But Sir Francis Drake is the name I should log.
Stranger still, as I researched this entry
(Rather surprised he wasn't waymarked)
He's placed in memory of my hubby's cousin
Mimi would approve, though from here disembarked.
So now when I see him, I'll name him correctly
And spare a smile and a tear for Mimi so dear
Tell us your story, how you came to see him
What brings you, waymarker, this way to steer.
All this and in memory of Miriam Wornum. Wow. 1 degree of separation again!

Remarks:
The sculpture is dedicated to Miriam Gerstle Wornum, a local art patron from Larkspur. Cost of the sculpture was $100,000. Funds for the sculpture were raised through private contributions. The city donated the land the sculpture is sited on and provided funding for preparing the ground.
