The Coventry Welsh Presbyterian Church shares its premises with the Unitarian Church.

The rustic red brick building with a small tower incorporates two columns and oak panelling from the old Unitarian church in Great Smithford Street. The church’s organ is the oldest surviving working Hammond electric valve organ in Britain (a model B3). It was imported by Boosey & Hawkes in October 1936, and arrived in this country in style, in the cargo hold of the Queen Mary. It was restored in 2001.

Coventry has traditionally had a sizable Welsh population attracted by industries such as coal mining, textile and car manufacture. Other evidence of their presence in Coventry is the Coventry Welsh Rugby Club and the Coventry Cambrian Society.

The sign outside the church is mainly in the Welsh language and is probably the only place in Coventry where you will find the Welsh language on a public building.
