A flat stone memorial at the Ohio State Fairgrounds includes depictions of a carnival horse, the Ohio state seal, a winged wheel, and a plow. These all surround an outline of the state of Ohio with an inscription that reads: "To commemorate the founding of the Ohio State Fair in June 1845 and its history during our nation's bicentennial era." The stone denotes the site of the Ohio State Fair bicentennial time capsule that was buried during the September 6, 1976, fair festivities by the Ohio Expositions Commission. The time capsule is to be opened during the fair festivities in the year 2026. According to
Wikipedia, the time capsule "holds treasures of the times from the Ohio State Fair, Ohio sports teams, coins and stamps, a T-shirt, Levis, and tennis shoes."
