The Cincinnati Commandos, the city’s new professional indoor football team, held a press conference on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Cincinnati Gardens to announce specifics about their team and upcoming season. Cincinnati Commandos’ General Manager, Travis Johnson, as well as the team’s staff and select players were on hand to answer questions. The announcement was held in the Legends Museum at the Cincinnati Gardens, on the second floor in the rear of the building.
The Cincinnati Commandos are a part of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL), the longest-running indoor football league in North America. The team will feature local and experienced talent including:
Terrill Byrd (University of Cincinnati/Colerain High School)
Dominick Goodman (University of Cincinnati/Colerain High School)
Dustin Grutza (University of Cincinnati)
Ben Mauk (University of Cincinnati/ Wake Forest)
Clayton Mullins (Miami University)
The team is preparing for a ten game regular season in the CIFL, under the direction of Head Coach, Derrick Shepard.
