Dedicated in 1901, the statue of Queen Victoria is located on the grounds of Parliament Hill between the West Block and Center block buildings. The bronze statue, designed by Louis-Philippe Hébert, was proposed in 1897 to celebrate the Queen's 60th year of rule.
Her full title: "Her Majesty Victoria, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen, Defender of the Faith, Empress of India."
Queen Victoria reigned over the Province of Canada and selected Ottawa as the capital of Canada in 1857
