There have been 5 courthouses for Refugio County. The 1880 courthouse was supposedly burned by county employees when the commissioners refused to build a new one.
Refugio County Courthouse located in Refugio, Texas. Listed as an active courthouse. Designed by architect Atlee B. Ayres and constructed by 1919 in the Classical Revival style with Mission Revival influences.
