This is the Cahuenga Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library located at 4591 West Santa Monica Blvd.
This is one of six libraries built with a $210,000 Carnegie Endowment grant given to Los Angeles in 1911. This branch opened in 1916.
In 1916, this area was largely agricultural, with orange groves and wheat fields. This branch was built to serve the rural, agrarian population of this section of LA. Things have changed quite a bit in this area over the past 90 years.
To log your own visit to this waymark, post your own photo of the library along with some brief comments. Logs without photos will be archived. Thanks.
