The Space, Telecommunications, and Radioscience Laboratory, aka STAR Lab, is a research group within the Department of Electrical Engineering of Stanford University. An overview of the projects within the STAR lab can be found at their web site. The radio telescope is also used for SETI research.
There are several other radio telescopes, not shown, around this location.
