Here at Treaty Rock Roger Williams and William Coddington probably completed purchase of Providence and Aquidneck, March 24, 1637-8, and the Atherton Company in 1662 forclosed its morgage on the Narragansett lands.

Directions:
From North Kingstown, take US-1 south to Bridgetown Rd. At the bottom of the hill, turn onto Middlebridge Rd. Parking will be at a ballfield about one mile on the right. Follow the trail uphill to the rock.
The main cliff at Pettaquamscutt Rock is approximately 50 feet in height and 40 feet in width. There are no distinct routes on the cliff, you can pretty much climb anywhere. Farther to the left (south) has a small increase in difficulty.
