The school was built in 1916 and served District 61 in Larimer County.
Several years ago the Meadow Hollow School was moved to nearby Masonville, Colorado to make way for the flooding and creation of Carter Lake.
The vintage one-room schoolhouse was a gift to the museum from rancher Roy Hunter and moved again to the Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum.
Since 2005, the Meadow Hollow School has been furnished in the fashion of a one-room country school of the early 1900s. The building serves as an exhibit when not being used for a summer history day camp.
