DECLARATION FOR A PENSION
UNDER THE ACT OF FEBRUARY 14, 1871

COUNTY OF BANKS }

On this 21st day of June, AD one thousand eight hundred and
seventy one, personally appeared before me William Turk Clerk, of
the Superior Court, a court of record within and for the county and
State aforesaid, Thomas F. Anderson, aged ninety three years, a
resident of -------, county of Banks, State of Georgia who, being
duly sworn acording to law, declares that he is married, that his
wife's name was Margaret Bolton, to whom he was married at Grove
Level, Ga, on the -------- day of -----------, 18--; that he served
the full period of sixty days in the Military service of the United
States in the war of 1812; that he is the identical Capt. Thomas F.
Anderson who raised Capt Thomas F. Anderson's Company, Booth's
regiment, Blacksheirs brigade, McEntosh's division, at Carnesville
Ga, on the ----- day of --------- 18 -- , and was honorably
discharged at Ft. Hawkins Ga, on the -------- day of --------------
1815; that his said Company was never in any engagement that he, at
no time during the late rebellion against the authority of the
United States, adhered to the cause of the enemies of the
Government, giving them aid or comfort; or exercised the functions
of any office whatever under any authority, or pretended authority,
in hostility to the United States; and that he will support the
Constitution of the United States; that he is not in receipt of a
pension under andy previous act; that he makes this declaration for
the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United
States, under the provision of the act approved February 14, 1871,
and he hereby constitutes and appoints, with full power of
substitution and revocation, B.D. HYAM, of Washington, D.C., his
true and lawful attorney to prosecute his claim and obtain the
pension certificate that may be issued; that his post office is at
Homer, Ga, county of Banks, State of Georgia, that his domicil or
place of abode is Grove Level, Ga.

Also, personally appeared Charles N. Wafford, and Thomas C.
Chandler residing in Homer Banks County in State of Georgia, persons
whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit and who
being by me duly sworn, say; They were present and saw Thgoms F.
Anderson, the claimant, sign his name to the foregoing declaration;
that they have every reason to believe, from the appearance of said
claimant and their acquantance with him, that he is the identical
person he represents himself to be; that at no time during the late
rebellion against the authority of the United States, did he adhere
to the cause of the enemies of the Government, giving them aid or
comfort; and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this
claim.

Served as Captain of Capt. Thomas F. Anderson's Co., Ga Mil
From Nov. 21st 1814 to May 6th 1815.

Length of Service 167 days
Claimant declares he is not a pensioner under any previous act. Name
not on list of pensioners Loyalty, claimant's averment and testimony
of, Ch N. Woffard & Thos C. Chandler Character Certified to by J.D.
Gunnells P.M. at Banksville Ga. Oath to support the Constitution of
the United States subscribed. Admitted Mar. 18th 1872, to a pension
of eight dollars per month, from February 14th 1871.
