Louis Damm opened the original Damm Theatre next to his bakery in 1914. Damm bought the Columbia Theatre and renamed it the Damm Theatre in 1922. The Damm continues as a family run theater to this day, and has recently undergone a massive restoration. In June, 2008, the fourth stage of the renovation was completed with the lighting of the marquee. Today the Damm is open Friday through Sunday showing recent movies.
