The Dixon Dry Goods Building was constructed following the January 1894 fire that destroyed nearly the entire block.The Dixon Dry Goods business operated in the building until 1911. Since then the building has had a variety of businesses in it. The current business, “Never A Bum Steer” moved to this location in 1994. The building was renovated in 1994 and the Dixon Dry Goods sign on the front of the building was probably redone or added at that time. The signs on the upper west wall are most likely original and very difficult to read.
