BB&T Field is home to the Wake Forest University Demon Deacon of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Originally known as Grove Stadium, which opened in 1968 it was significantly upgraded and renamed BB&T Field in 2006. The current stadium seats 31,500 fans in two grandstands. Fans can also sit on “Deacon Hill” which is a grass area located in the south end zone. Bridger Field house is situated behind the north end. The original field house opened in 1968 but was demolished in 1996. The new Bridger Field House opened during the 1997 season and is home to the team locker rooms, ticket offices and alumni facilities. Field Turf replaced the stadiums natural grass in 2006.
BB&T Field is located a short distance from the Wake Forest Campus, and is part of the part of Winston Salem Sports and entertainment complex. The complex features The Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which is the home of Demon Deacon Basketball and Gene Hooks Stadium (formerly Ernie Shore Field), which is home to the Wake Forest Baseball Team.
