The Lacerda Elevator located in the city of Salvador, Bahia State, Brazil. One of the main tourist sites and postcard of the city, this urban facility on Bairro do Comércio in the neighborhood Praça Cayru near the Mercado Modelo, and connects the Lesser Town to Upper Town.
From the top of its towers, opens up the view of the Baá de todos os Santos, the Mercado Modelo, and the background, the Forte do Mar.
The elevator's most famous Bahia arrives to carry 900 thousand passengers per month or an average of 28 thousand people per day at a cost of five cents per passenger, a distance of thirty seconds duration.
