This very large playground is divided into two areas. One is for six-year-olds and older, the other is a fully fenced toddlers and young children area. There is plenty to do here underneath tall pondersosa trees giving lots of necessary shade.

Close to the junction of state highways 8 and 83 and near Alexandra's CBD, the Pioneer Park Playground offers a lot for children to do. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables for mum and dad to wait while their kids burn off pent up energy from sitting in the car.

Excellent toilets are close at hand at the Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery, which also the local i-Site (tourist information centre). And for eating there are plenty of cafes across Centennial Avenue. To stop here you can easily expect to spend an hour or two.
